When tasked with designing a suite of products for the Victorian Roller Derby League (VRDL), I aimed to create collateral that reflected the league’s fierce, unapologetic identity. This project included a poster, rule guide, vinyl sticker, magnet, and Facebook banner.
VRDL celebrates breaking stereotypes in women’s sport, embodying toughness, individuality, and empowerment. Inspired by this, I explored punk aesthetics—bold, mismatched typography paired with black-and-white photography and vibrant accents like magenta and lime green. This approach emphasised the league’s gritty, athletic persona while steering clear of overly feminine designs.
A standout feature was the lenticular magnet, which flipped between two images for a unique, engaging marketing element. By designing versatile, cost-effective collateral—including a rule guide printable via office photocopiers—the final suite offered a bold and cohesive brand identity.
